Where girls in Rainbows are also on a Brownie waiting list (or Brownies are on a Guide waiting list) how is this handled? Can a girl have two statuses (stati :D)

I suppose it could just be ignored, and it would then be assumed that all Rainbows were also waiting to join Brownies, but then you don't have the details of where and which day they'd like to go to Brownies, like you do for a girl who's just on the waiting list. And some girls have no real desire to move up to the next section (some Guides are happy to stay in Guides till 15 and then leave, full stop, or become YLs), while some are only staying in their unit (which isn't full) because the next section is full, so the idea of having waiting list pictures that are more accurate becomes more important.

We only have Brownies and all but one of our girls are 7 - but the remaining girl is 9 - and I'd like to make it clear to District that she's on a Guide waiting list. Can I ask for her to be added to a District Guide waiting list, as well? Can girls from another Rainbows be on my Brownie waiting list if I want them to?

I understand that a rainbow on a brownie waiting list would have 2 active statuses on GO:

rainbows - active membership
brownie waiting list - active

So, the Guider for either the preferred Guide unit or the District waiting list should add my older Brownie to the Guide waiting list?

in our area parents have to request girls to be put on waiting lists - we don't automatically enter them. The guider managing that waiting list would need to enter them as a waiting list brownie/waiting list guide

I am assuming that when girl starts as a brownie/guide and has been on a waiting list, that the role on the waiting list has to be made "inactive" - or does enterring them active as a member in brownies/guides automatically change waiting list status to "inactive?"

I can see when I click on EDIT next to one of my rainbows that she is on a brownie waiting list, so I'd be able to see if she were on more than one waiting list???? would each waiting list be nicely updated when girl starts officially or do guiders have to phone up other guiders to get them to update their lists?

I've had a girl move from waiting list when she turned 7, she no longer shows up as on my waiting list, so it's not "waiting list -inactive" as far as I can work out, but no longer having a "waiting list role". I went into that girl's status and changed the status so I'm struggling to see how a girl can have two statuses. But perhaps I should do a test and see if it will let me add a girl to the waiting list who is already in the unit!

I would probably have to suggest to my parents that their girls went on a Guides waiting list as they wouldn't think of it or know who to contact or probably what age they would be moving up.

when girls join our rainbows I give them list of brownie units in our area and contact numbers so that they can put their daughter on a brownie waiting list should they wish to do so

OK I just did something that was probably very naughty...

I added one of my Active Brownies to my Brownie waiting list. She had two roles when I did that, both Active Brownie and Active Waiting to Join Brownie. Then I ended the waiting to join role. It still appears though.

The girl I have who was on the waiting list before she was 7 but is now a Brownie, I think I must have changed her role not added a new one. She just has one role.

As far as I can work out, I could actually add a Brownie to a Guides waiting list, though it doesn't seem like anyone else in District would see it.

It seems as if I can "hold" lists of Rainbows, Guides and various waiting lists as well as Brownies. But I suppose I would need to add Guides to my unit if I had Pack Leaders, though I know I'm not allowed to add YLs so I don't see why I need to add SS or Rainbows!

Ah, so the Brownie leader then added them having their names and DOB (or having got their numbers from you) - and you see their two sets of status, although presumably you don't have them on YOUR waiting-to-join list attached to YOUR unit, even as "waiting-to-join Brownies"?

All the girls on my waiting-to-join list (Guides) are also active Brownies. Brownies is their "main" role. The Brownie Guider cannot add them to my unit. She has to send me the girl's name and registered number and then I add them to my waiting to join list. Similarly if one of my Guides wants to go on the Senior Section waiting list, I have to email her details to the Senior Section Guider for her to add. A girl can also be on more than one waiting to join list (so have more than two roles). Hope that makes sense!

it shows which brownie unit they are on the "waiting list to join" and shows active as a rainbow with my unit as the (M) role (brownie guiders must have enterred name and DOB though as I haven't given out any membership numbers yet!)

so definitely would be able to see where else girls names were enterred whilst they are still an active member with you (not sure once the girl becomes inactive with you whether would still be able to see the details?)

I think its actually quite clever ;)
