Is it possible to email all leaders or all main contacts for a unit in a district?

Cheers

yes it is possible to email to leaders per unit when - use the tick in the box beside then click "email"

I've not figured out how to do "all leaders, unit helpers, from all my units in the district"!!!

thats what i mean - email leaders from all of the units in a district or email all the main contacts from units in the district. You would have thought this should be possible to do!!

I think that sounds like far too sensible an idea to include it in GO!

but I've created a distribution list in my outlook express so that's the easier way I send one email to them all (I have 80 volunteers!!!)

Yes, you have to cut and paste all the various email addresses into an email. 'I'm not sure how we stand on creating a distribution list as is that not removing data from a protected source ?' - that said I've done it too as far too faffy otherwise.

I'd love capacity to email all Guide Guiders, all Brownie Guiders, all YL's etc....

If you are a District / Division Commissioner you can run the new 'level meeting summary' report - show levels below (Y) when you have the report on screen - top left you will see print icon next you see export icon - use drop down menu to select 'microsoft exel - data only' option. Select browse and save somewhere you can then open it expand the email column copy and past the whole column into blind copy and e.mail the main contact for each unit in your district / division who have e.mail on Go!
Hope this helps - but always remember to delete the file when done

Hmm so is the conclusion you can e-mail all Guiders not just 'Main Contact' but it requires a bit of computer knowledge to get what the post above has described to work for it.

It would be useful if someone can confirm this as its an item I want to raise at our Div Meeting tonight (which is like a District Mtg as we have no districts)... the Brownie Assistant Div Comm seems to only send things to the Brownie Main Contacts (who is the named GIC in our unit) rather than all the Brownie Guiders (I think the Div Comm doen't send it out to all Guiders as she's a Mac user at home, of course Go doesn't work on that yet ... if ever).

Its caused us a few hassles (like the census message that went to main contact who was ill at the time so I who was sorting it out didn't get it and so was dealing with the Div Comm to resolve not realising another e-mail had been sent out). More recently the location of the Div Mtg was sent out to Brownie Main contacts only (not sure on the other sections) with less than 1 week notice (so most of us had already had our weekly meetings) with agenda... my GIC was on the look out and making a point of checking e-mail for it (our last section meeting had 36hrs notice of location) ... and then a day later I got a one line e-mail with the location but no agenda from Assisstant Div Comm, but fortunatley my GIC had twigged the same thing had happened as census so forwarded it when she got it.

Hence we're close to changing our main contact (and e-mail address on Go for one of the leaders to our pack gmail a/c, another thing Go can't cope with a pack with a pack e-mail a/c that isn't a guiders personal a/c) to pack gmail so whoever checks the unit a/c first can ping it forward to our personal a/cs for info and action on the appropriate Guider (as I'm sure we're not the only unit where work is shared rather than the Main Contact doing everything!).

Grr we need to get communication sorted in Division as it feels unless you turn up to Div Mtg or the Section Meetings you won't get any information other than the County newsletter which is sent straight from county. Hence whilst I escaped Brownies tonight by us going to a science show last night... I have to go to Div Mtg to find what is happening in our division.
