Weekly Discussion: Does Go deserve a bad reputation?

That is mad...how on earth are we meant to know when they started an interest badge? They are doing it at home!!!

    New Programme - Discuss!

Thanks I hadn't seen/heard/noticed about doing the badges as a small group. Guess as it has never come up before I didn't pay attention to that bit.

    New Programme - Discuss!

Right, well I am back from our first Guide meeting back and we went through the programme and how it fitted together etc...then one of our girls asked me a question that I have to say flummoxed me. The question was with the interest badges that they do at home, can they do them in pairs if they...

Please could someone give me clear step by step directions on how to see this? I have tried a couple of things to no avail. Sorry to be so dim.

That's what I thought - doesn't exactly inspire you to take it further!

    New Programme - Discuss!

Does anyone know: if your girls do a UMA that takes say 60 minutes but they want to do the "take it further" clause. Can the extra time this takes on another meeting be used towards the 5 hours that are required for Guides?

Crikey that isn't good. No matter how good you are at putting people in the recovery position it isn't going to help them a bit if they aren't breathing!!!

Weekly Discussion: Training up the future

 Really?!! I know I have high expectations (of myself as well as others) but a 9 year old can do that. Our Young leader are put in charge of the unit for an hour and a quarter doing the same sort of things as Trinny. I am honestly shocked.

    REN Forms

Couple of things A really big positive is that this has helped so much with the activity on this forum, this thread has become very lively! The second thing is sadly I think this has been thought through by paid staff at HQ who don't run units and therefore really honestly don't realise the...

    REN Forms

Well we go in 4 weeks and I spent yesterday evening doing the forms (3 overnight camps in May/June) but was waiting to hear back from my home contact to confirm she was free ... so now I am ringing HQ for advise, fortunately I am not working tomorrow. They could have given us warning...

I want to make sure I am reading this all correctly. I have read the newsletter from HQ and followed the link, it says this: "The venue must be approved by the relevant host Adviser. If the venue has not already been approved, notify the Adviser in plenty of time for the venue to be inspected...

I bet the county residential advisors will be hacked off as they won't have had a say in all this & it is them that are going to have the biggest headache of all from these new forms

    REN Forms

Where does one find a home contact agreement form? My county residential adviser is going to be busy checking all our green fields then, they didn't bother before so long as I ensured there were no animals on the field for at least a month before camping there & occasionally they would pay us a...
