Weekly Discussion: Does Go deserve a bad reputation?

I imagine the second - the same reason that Scouting can't make major changes to Compass!

Well, yes, that too! (Unless Girlguiding want the data on how long it takes to do certain badges?

WHY SO MANY CLICKS TO SAY A GIRL HAS COMPLETED AN INTEREST BADGE?!?!?! Why can't there just be an option for 'Completed' when you're putting it on in the first place, rather than a 'Started' date and then having to click back into it!

    It's UMA Pack 2 :)

    Brownie introduction activities

We don't do 'Getting to know you' activities any more, we find that just getting them sitting down and doing an activity/craft will get them talking naturally, without it being forced conversation! We also find that most girls know at least one person from school or Rainbows or swimming etc...

    Interest badges

Just whichever they're interested in, and whenever. They don't have to do them at the same time as the related Skills Builders UMAs. The general idea is that you don't just focus on one theme per term anyway, so it wouldn't matter when they do the Interst Badges

    Compare and contrast...

But Join Us gives that information. It would be helpful if you could do a 'Area check' before putting details into Join Us where people could look at that info, but otherwise, Join Us already provides that functionality

What does your Guiding bag look like?

Is 'a total and utter mess' a good enough answer? It needs a real sort out, but in it I have: - Folder inc Register etc - Cash Tin - Badge Book - Some Skills Builders - About 1000000 pens (Some of which work, some don't I expect) - A necker I keep meaning to put back in the necker box -...

Nicknames for Guiders a safeguarding issue?

I have Brownie parents who didn't even bring their daughters in on their first night - they don't know what the leaders look like, let alone their names (Obviously real names are on our starting forms, but whether they read and remember that is another thing!)

    Poster for New Programme

Or take it to your local printing shop (Staples/Office Outlet etc) and they will be able to print whatever size you want!

    Badge books (New programme)

I've asked them to bring them. We'll sign off at meetings when things have been done, so girls will need to bring them to be able to have badges signed off!

Weekly Discussion: Does Go deserve a bad reputation?

I've said this numerous times, but stand by my stance (And have already said this to Girlguiding) Girlguiding should have worked with Online Guide Manager to solve their data protection issues/concerns. Online Scout Manager is a fantastically easy to use System and the recording system could...

Amazingly that's never happened to mine either, I must just be lucky

But are these staying? 'Brownies was an Adventure' will no longer make sense when the Adventure badges cease to exist

    Weekly Discussion: Call me.....

We are all Owls - regardless of whether they're adults or YLs - everyone is a volunteer, I don't like to make any of my leaders feel they're not as 'important' as the Owls as my YLs are all Brilliant.

My plan is to still do the evenings where the oldest girls run what happens, I can then sign off tat clause in the Gold Award - regardless of whether they're wanting to complete the rest of it or not!
