Hopefully taking our Guides to Charnwood in 2016 - my first time there as I'm now living in Leicester. Having been to Essex Jamboree many times I'm definitely in need of a change!

You probably need to talk to your residential adviser re: that one - I can't see which county you are from - from outside Leics I would assume yes. If from Leics it may be that local arrangements can be made to bring you under someone else's "umbrella" if you've not quite got all the modules required - it's not a place for a totally inexperienced person to lead a group tho because fun as they are, international camps are very full on and bring challenges that a unit camp probably doesn't. Having said that our aim is for all kids to have the opportunity - so if you haven't a licence, maybe you could team up with a unit that has? In 2011 my son's scout troop weren't able to come, but he and his friends came as part of a district group. The addy campwardens@charnwood.org will reach Scout and Guide Camp Wardens for individual discussions. Senior Section groups don't need a permit if coming without a leader, and will get a certain level of support from their sub camp team, but you would want to make sure they were suitably experienced/prepared.

Situations Vacant!!

Charnwood 2016 www.charnwood.org seeks motivated and enthusiastic volunteer staff to create memories of a lifetime for thousands of young people and adults from all over the world.

Come and #BePartOf an international staff team at an International Scout and Guide Camp that enjoys a great reputation the world over. Our 8th event is returning to the grounds of Whatton House – a site that definitely has the WOW factor!! Join experienced team members in providing a home from home for a week for young people aged 10 – 18 as they face new challenges, make new friends, and have the “time of their lives”.

Our staff also have the “time of their lives” – they work hard, but they also play hard, and there’s nothing that compares with the satisfaction they will feel at the end of the week seeing the happy faces of the young people, many of whom can’t wait to come back “next time”.

All of our campers enjoy the best toilets and showers that we can afford, and our staff may choose to eat in our staff restaurant where they can enjoy not only great food, but great company. Staff will camp in our adult staff sub camp which will also house areas for relaxation when “off duty”.

Staff Applications are invited from 18+ Leaders/Parents/Supporters of any section. All of our staff must be dbs checked through Scouting/Guiding.

All of our vacancies are listed at: https://charnwood.org/booking/staff/page1.php

Questions? Email staff@charnwood.org

We look forward to welcoming you to what we know will be “the best Charnwood yet”!! :)
