LUUSAG would love to welcome any student from Leeds or the surrounding area. We are a very active club and organise several events a week. We host socials where like-minded students get the opportunity to meet regularly to take part in activities, chat, relax, and have a good time. We have events at least twice a week every week. Pub lunch is a relaxed and informal opportunity to socialise with members and some tasty food. We meet in Old Bar in the union on a different day every week so get in touch to find out what day it is this week! In addition we also get together every Sunday for a day or evening of fun. Past activities have included pancake making, murder mystery nights and trips to Ilkley. The programme is packed for the new term but not before we finish this term off with some tie-dieing and a Christmas party! There is also a national ball held every year. This year it will be in Cardiff and is always a night to remember!

We encourage all our members that want to into becoming volunteers with local groups in need throughout Scouting and Guiding. We have links with many local groups, and can help find the right one for you, whether you’re wanting a new group now that you’ve moved to Uni, or if your entirely new to being a Leader. We have also been out to local campsites and spent a weekend doing site maintenance. This is all not compulsory and is voluntary for all members

One of the best bits about SSAGO, is getting away from uni life and getting outdoors, going camping, and doing some exploring! There are three National SSAGO Rallies each year, one per term, and as well as that LUUSAG runs or attends another event each term. These include Freshers’ Camp and national Network Camps. Our latest camping trips were Summer Camp 2012 to Walesby Forest Outdoor Activity Centre, Freshers Camp at Ilkley and Leeds Pantomime Rally at Wike last weekend. In the new year we will be going for an indoor camp at Bramhope before Manchester's cartoon themed rally in February.

As you can see we have loads going on. If you missed out during freshers or are just looking for something new and fun to do find us on the union website, http://www.leedsuniversityunion.org.uk/clubsandsocieties/outdoor/scoutandguide/, drop us an email luusag@yahoo.com or find us in facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/8335993546/.

Oooh, we're not students but I help run the scout network in Wakefield, we also meet on a Sunday! We might be interested in meeting up and doing something joint which would lower the costs!

Let me know!!
