fab Hilzo! I had the '85 Brownie handbook but don't remember ever owning fawn socks!
I did, and brown knickers. About 15 years before 1985 though. In fact by 1985 I was a Brownie Guider; my Brownies had white socks or brown tights if I remember correctly.

My guide uniform was 1980 and 1985 models - we switched during my 4th year as a Guide. Don't remember patrol badge etc switching to the opposite side though.
I do vividly. One parent moved ALL the badges from the sleeve too!

There were Land, Sea and Air Rangers, and Cadets (like YLs now). Land Rangers wore a grey jersey with a navy skirt
I have some pics, but they're all in black and white. They wore a uniform suit before and after the WWII era (uniforms were changed to jersey and skirt during the war because of clothing coupons).

I didn't realise these were up. I have been looking for a modern version as some of our brownies parents position the badges wrong and then have to rearrange them :)
