The 'I'm doing my Holiday Licence' Thread

I am doing my licence. I have decided that I should get mine too rather than rely on Emma all the time.

We are going away in November and I am doing a Christmas theme. Can't wait!

Okay, got my A/a form signed off and handed in today.

Reviewed the first aid kits (main, kitchen, grab bag) and misc equipment for the first aid room - it was all sort of inheirited. Well we (mentor and I) filled up a large black bag as some stuff seriously out of date or manky A big shopping trip happening next week to get it all shiny new and listed and then lists signed off by First Aider ready for pack hol/evidence file.

Visit to venue tomorrow with heaps of things to ask/find out/check/list. We went last year, but looking at the book makes me realise how much I need to re-ask and write out for evidence file.

Then another team planning meeting next Monday to get to grips with programme ideas the girls came up with.

Feel like I'm getting somewhere

I'm just about to collate all info for my large scale endorsement and the Senior Section licence to the same mentor to be signed off and sent off but need it back asap for my International Module - then that will be completed on return in mid August!!!

Did the guide indoor last November too!! Four modules in less than 10 months!

That's good you've got lots of time ... you need to involve the Brownies in the choice of theme, we had a pow-wow and they came up with loads of ideas and we added in ideas too. Then they voted for a top 8 with a secret ballot slip We've ended up with Mamma Mia for our September pack hol. Now they've come up with activities from pow-wow which we are working with (mostly !) and they have to input into menu and stuff as well - all of this you have to evidence for your book.

Mine is now 3 weeks away and I'm poo-ing myself!!
Menu sorted, programme sorted. Now im doing all the bits that seem to take forever like ordering craft stuff, making diaries, wide game etc
I really hope ive not forgotten anything!!! Feel like i need to take some time off work before hand just to focus on PH prep!!!

I sorta am, I work in an afterschool club on Tues Thurs and friday, and have the day off on thurs and friday!! I'm also 1st cover on weds if anyone is ill, so I've told everyone they are not allowed to be sick!!

I feel like i've been planning this for so long, i can hardly believe it's actually nearly here!!!

I mostly just need to do lots and lots of printing out now, (programme, menu, diaries, sixes, duties list etc!) that and just getting everything together ready to go....

5 days to go!!!

ooh good luck Becca, hope you have a great time.

You are the first one to go then .. so you'll have to give us some pointers when you come back and what things they checked. My mentor has warned me they will open the fridge/freezer and check foods are properly stored and all that, luckily my co-GiC is our QM and she is fab and the other thing was posters in kitchen (Brownie age friendly) re hand washing, hair tying back, etc, - we are going to get our Brownies to make them at a meeting before pack hol so that they remember .. hopefully !

Anyway, we'll be thinking of you .....

I'm really worried it's gonna Rain on Saturday

whilst it's not as bad as camping in the rain, and most of our activities can be done inside, we were planning to have a wide game and a campfire which needs to be outside

I don't really know what the weather will be, according to BBC it's heavy rain, but according to UK weather it's partly cloudly and AOL says sunny spells?!

The place we are staying is quite small I think the girls will go mad if they are stuck inside!!
