    Team Games/Relay ideas please?

    Hey guys,
    This Monday it's "Brownie Revels", which is where all the local Brownie units meet at a local country park and do stuff together. One leader is bringing some parachutes, and there's gonna be a scavenger hunt thing.
    As I've started my Leadership Qualification, part of it is to organise an activity for my unit and others, and so my leader has asked me to come up with some team games for the girls to play. I don't know how long I've got to fill, but we have 1h 30 mins total, which includes the things as above, as well as a break (for drinks etc), and I don't know if I've got to come up with all the game ideas.
    So far, I've come up with a couple, one where they have to pass bean bags over their heads, then the girl at the back runs to the front and repeats until the girl originally at the front is back at the front, one which is the same but they have to do over head, through legs, over head etc. The other three are relay races, the first is just do it, balancing a bean bag on your head, the next is hopping while holding the bean bag on your head, and having to wave in and out of cones.
    I was hoping you guys would know a few more you'd be happy to share, I'm fairly sure we are going to have bean bags, mini plastic cones and tennis balls, but don't think we'll have anything else. Or do you think these will be enough? I have one or two more ideas, but these consist of diving the girls into two or three large groups, and as I don't know how many girls are going to be there, I don't know how fesible these are.

    catapillar races -
    girls line up in teams with legs apart to form a tunnel
    girl at backs crawls through the legs and stands up atnthe front.
    new back girl does the same
    repeats till they reach the end of the distance
    can be good fun

    wheelbarrow races?

    passing the balloon holding it between you knees is fun. but if you've only got 90mins total inc. the above you will only have time for one or two games at most. I would double check with the organiser how many games she wants

    So make the best of this test, and don't ask why
    It's not a question, but a lesson learned in time

    The Alphabet Game - Each team has a piece of paper and pen at one end and the girls at the other. In turn they run to the piece of paper write down the letter of the alphabet (starting at A) in the correct order. They need to work as a team to make sure the letters are in the right order and individually. to get to the paper as fast as they can. The winners are the one who have the whole alphabet written in the correct order (although the writing is usually all over the place!)

  6. How's about Nose Race - part of Aim High . Each girl has to travel a certain distance on their hands and knees pushing either a grape or cherry tomato with only their nose . We used grapes just past there best , a few did get squished into floor and some of the girls wanted to eat them after - ewwww!!! but they loved playing it . You could adapt it to tennis/ ping pong balls !

    Or jump sticks -another one from aim high that we've done a couple of times

    I did an obsticle/ relay race involving flippers then arm bands under the parachute then swap arm bands for a ring, then take off ring and hand to next girl. The flipper bit was hilarious

    Was going to say though, you really need clarification on how long your section has to be to match up with the others. Are they doing it as bases so each group moving round or everyone doing each activity on mass.

    Is there any kind of theme?

    No, no theme, just general fun outdoors. I'm not been given any time, and I haven't asked, as I figured the response will be however long we end up with. And I don't know that either, but it's a bit late to ask now.

    If its a still night, you can do playing card pelmanism - teams in queues at one end, at the other lay a suit of cards in front of each team, face down. One player at a time runs up and turns over a card - if it's the one she wants she leaves it turned, otherwise she turns it back, runs back and tags the next player to come forward. Correct order is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K

    You can do obstacle courses, running relay races (you can use blunt pencils or drinking straws as batons), skipping relays, kangaroo jump relays, ball dribbling relays etc!
