    Default Census Question

    Does anyone know when (now that we are using GO) we will be hearing how much the census is going to be in our individual areas?

    or can anyone remember when we heard last year how much our census was going to be? (think it was early December that we heard last year from memory?)

    It is likely to be early December again. The problem is that you have so many tiers that have to set and agree how much they want their census to be:
    CHQ
    Region
    County
    Division
    that it seems to take forever to come down the line.
    I happen to know that it has reached County level and my county will be setting tonight, so then we can crack on and set a figure at Division level, but obviously your county/division meetings could be on a completely different timetable.

    Ours has already been decided. It just depends how long it takes each of the levels to decide. We found out County price in about May time so we've then set Division and District.

    ours is £15.50 that will come through Go and £1 for district/division so £16.50 in total. found this out at our last district meeting.

    Ours has been decided but I've no idea how the CHQ gets the money!!! Not everyone census is the same so how will the CHQ know????

    I know the central amount to cover insurance and guiding membership (for cHQ) is the same for everyone, but then regional amounts are added at county level, division level and also at district level depending on area needs/events planned etc and because these amounts vary thats why census differs up and down UK

    does our census money also pay for salaried staff/building costs for regional HQ too? I'm assuming it does

    When you hear varies from area to area. We were told our County levy in September, we haven't yet heard whether a Division or District levy will be added to it or not.

    That is reasonable...

    I kind of need to know (as I'm sure many other guiders do) so that I can ensure we will have enough money to pay for it in the bank account... at the moment all I have to go on is last year's figures and this year's might be completely different...
