I thought that was always the way - if you make an error with the DOB it can only be changed by people at county level or higher. thats what we were told.

I know our county key user has full access to the system (even to the point that they could make their own appointment that of chief guide! ), so if we have problems we email her.

and I am still leader-pending and can't get into my unit stuff to update or amend anything (wanted to enter my waiting list)

How stupid though, because it's exactly the kind of silly mistake you would make....

An entry error like the one you had should have been prevented by decent validation inbuilt to the system.
Oh I would love a day to carry out a bit of reprogramming.

I understood that only CHQ could make alterations to a child's entry because of child protection and that the key users can only alter adult entries.

Cazbly, I agree, and I also can't believe that while you can run it on a number of browsers, reports can only be generated on IE.

I QA websites before they leave our building and they have to, as a minimum, work on on IE7/8, FF2/3 on PC, and Opera on the Mac, the vast majority also have to work on Chrome on PC, Opera and Safari on both Mac and PC.

I use firefox too, but you can input all the stuff etc with firefox (and luckily firefox even remembers your passwords and membership number for you)... I just have to switch to old fashioned IE if I need to view any of the reports (and try and remember my membership number and password!!!) Luckily I haven't needed any of the reports (yet)

Haven't heard of linux... is that even better than firefox?

Linux is an operating system, like Windows ( but FREE!) and you use Firefox for Linux on it...I'm leaving it all down to the OH, he loves freeware, and his brother is dooing his doctorate in applied computing and artificial intelligence, so I have as much Geekhelp as I need!!

argh.......I'm going to have a problem then. I have about 5 guides who I was 'missing' dob's for. And since it won't let you input them with a dob I figured I could make one up for now and then just 'amend' it when I have found out the info. So that all my guides are on and just need a few correcting, rather than not having them on. Looks like I am going to have to admit I messed up and get someone to change them for me!!
