I can guess what it will be and what is being said here, that she should be let in, but I know what my DCs response would be and it's not that.

true, this isn't her worst thing I've heard though, as she refuses to let any unit meet at a catholic church hall, which seems odd, and is definately changing when she goes.

I can understand what your saying about her leaving in dec, but Id still question if as an organsation we should have people in "power" who are discrinative even for a short period.

Its because of people like this we are still seen by many as a "white christian middle class organsation"

I think its important that we are seen for who we really are and this adult sounds like a willing volunteer.

There is no reason why they can't - surely it is no different from meeting in a methodist hall?

I wonder if she would have the same opinion about a group meeting in a mosque!?

I honestly don't know. Also it is no different meeting at a catholic hall than it is a methodist one. The fantastic thing is, that I've been asked to become a district assistant by her, so I can develop the district and create more links with the scouts and youth clubs, which she broke, but that's another story. She is also going to be 65, so won't be involved anymore. lol.

She cannot tell people where they can and cannot meet....She can't discriminate againts a person who had an adult pastime, as long as they pass CRB. I would be wary about her mentioning modelling, of any kind , as its not a healthy industry for young women, whether glamour or not. I love the unintended irony in the name glamour modelling, as its totally unglamouros and completely GRIM>>>

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, what a ride!

we're not going to, she is now a stage manager so just going to mention that, but the DC has had many issues as far as I've found out speaking to GiCs or supposed ones, from the district directory, which she hasn't put everyone's correct roles down and still got my old scout group on as a friend of guiding, even though it hasn't been for 3 years.

Was it legal? Yes. Then there is no problem.
I don't get this whole hohah about not letting people join because of previous personal situations. We're calling out for leaders and yet we're turning them away...
