There used to be instructions in my oldGuide handbook, and I mean 'old' !!! as in 1970's

but I'm guesssing that's not much help to you, unles you happen to have that old handbook. However someone on here MUST have one, and could possibly scan it or something.

It was one with the badges in the back, and when short skirts were the in thing, and the pictures were just drawn, and usually only blue and white.

Not sure I'm making sense here

    Try this...

    http://guidinguk.freeservers.com/gadgets.html

    or this...

    http://www.geocities.com/guide_camp/cooking.html

the latter one has a bit more detail.

you need to scroll down the page in both cases.

Just googled 'making a hanging larder' and away it went...to be fair, the 1st site is the Best of Guiding site, which I know a number of us use. The other i've stumbled across a number of times when looking for songs and camp things.

I have seen these but a better way is to get 3 plates, metal or plastic The same or different sizes. Drill 3 holes in each plate, equally spaced around the edge. Take three pieces of string and tie a knot in the end. Thread through the three holes of the bottom/largest plate. Tie three more knots in the string about 15-20 cm higher up. Thread through holes in second/medium plate. repeat with third plate. You can of course have as many or as few plates as you like.
