Default Which way up does the Yorkshire Rose go?

I read somewhere that having it up different ways represents different things? Is this true or did I make this up somewhere along the way?

Was just wondering which way I should sew the Silk sent to me

I'm not from Yorkshire, so someone will no doubt correct me if I'm wrong!
I remember someone saying 'the feet' go at the bottom - I asssume they mean the leaves!

I was always taught that it has 2 'green feet' at the bottom and 1 at the top

I think 'upside down' is the right way up.... I have a Yorkshire flag on my bedroom, and looking at the bit down the side for a flagpole, it has to go upside down. In my 2nd year we had a big Yorkshire flag on our kitchen wall. We spent quite a bit of time debating which way up it is supposed to go...

I was always told that women wear it one way (with the two leaves at the bottom and one leaf at the top) and that men wear it the other way (one leaf at the bottom and two at the top). Not sure how correct this is though. I always wear mine with 2 leaves at the bottom because I've always worn it this way and now it just doesn't look right to me the other way!!!

The yorkshire rose rests on 2 petals
if you also check with the tudor rose which is a combination of lancastrian rose overlaid with yorkshire rose
the lanc rose rests on one petal and the yorks rose on 2 petals
