Im looking for an activity center where the girls can go orienteering close to the unit. preferably with accomodation to combine it with a sleepover.

Anybody know of anywhere local? Iv emailed Burrs Park in Bury. so waiting for a rough price from there. Would need an instructor as im useless at these things.

Thanks:confused:

We've done an orienteering type thing in Nuttal Park, the park wardens/ranger service helped to organise a district activity day, the rainbows and brownies had seperate activities from the guides.

Have you thought about trying geocaching instead of orienteering? much more fun than orienteering and I know that there are quite a few caches hidden in Burrs Park. Visit the website www.geocaching.com to find out more.

you'll ideally need a gps (hand held gizmo) to locate the caches, however there is an iphone app which you can download - the full version you have to pay for but there is a 'lite' version which is free and shows the nearest three caches to your location.

BTW there's been some caches placed at Waddow if you're ever up there - I'm planning to do them at the weekend.
