Brownies Readings

Veteran (100+ posts)

I am looking for Brownie readings/prayers to use at the end of our meetings. I have the senses book but i think it may be a bit much for the girls. Can anyone help?

I think it depends a bit on whether you are looking for something with a religious slant or just something to get them thinking. I use quite a lot of wisdom stories with the Brownies because they often make a moral point but without referring to any particular faith. Google wisdom stories for kids and quite a few come up. Something else I have done is to gather a collection of 'inspirational posters' or proverbs and let the girls choose one and discus what they think it means and what would happen if they took that advice on board. Examples here might be
When spiders webs unite they can tie up a lion
It takes courage to stand up to your enemies but even more courage to stand up to your friends
A ship in harbour is safe, but that is not what ships are for.
Don't tell me the skies the limit when there are footprints on the moon.
Never judge a fish by its ability to climb trees.
Hope this gives you some ideas.
