    Please read and abide by these rules. The admin/moderator team's decision about any action required is final. A system of warnings and infractions exists and will be used if required. Please see HERE for an explanation of our infraction system.

    Kindly note that these rules need to be read in conjunction with the thread regarding general guidance on posting, which can be found HERE.

    General Rules:




      • You must be 14 years or older to be a member.
      • You must be a member of Girlguiding.
      • Each member is allowed one log in account. Posting under multiple aliases is not allowed.
      • Multiple or repeated posts/threads are not allowed.
      • Discussion of illegal activities such as software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed.
      • You cannot post any affiliate or referral links, or posts asking for referrals.
      • Avatars must not resemble official staff avatars or be offensive.
      • While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts or personal attacks.
      • No swearing (including acronyms), writing posts of a sexual nature, flaming, trolling or spamming. This includes using the forum email, visitor message and private message system to spam other members.
    Advertising Services and Solicitation:




      • This is a Guiding forum, and we are happy for people to sell guiding/scouting related items (badges, books uniform etc.) or things that are fundraising related. But please do not list other items you have for sale.
      • We do not allow people to post threads or to send private messages or emails to users that advertise or solicit any products, services, funds or donations. Explicit advertising and solicitating in signatures is also prohibited but you may include a link to your website.
    Signatures:




      • All signatures should not exceed the following size limits:



      • 4 lines normal size, 8 lines small size and font sizes above 2 are not allowed. (Blank lines count as lines.)
      • Small pictures are allowed but no animated images please.
      • Signatures with both words and pictures should not be excessive in size.
    2. Links in signatures must follow these guidelines:




      • Linking to a commercial product/service is fine, provided it is not a product or service that competes with a product or service offered by Tycio/Guiders.co.uk and it is not an affiliate program link for BadgeFreaks or any other affiliate program.
      • A link and promotional text for a site that is not commercial and does not contain product(s) and/or service(s) is allowed, provided the site is not sexual or does not violate community standards. The team shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not violate community standards. (Examples include sites about drugs and/or sex.)
      • Duplicate links to the same URL in a signature are not allowed.
    Affiliate Programs:




      • The BadgeFreaks affiliate program is designed to allow people to advertise BadgeFreaks products on their web site and earn a commission on all sales generated through that link. You are not allowed to post your affiliate link anywhere on the Guiders forums, in your signature or send the link through private messages to other forum users. Anyone that does this may be removed from the affiliate program immediately without notice. This rule applies to all affiliate program links, not just the BadgeFreaks program.
    Data Protection:

    Kindly remember data protection. This is a public forum and you do not need to be a member to read the posts. With this in mind, kindly ensure all third parties who may be mentioned in your post are not identifiable.

    1. Do not post your email address on the forum. This is NOT a rule, and if you do so it is considered to be at your own risk. If you click on a user's name or avatar, it is possible to send that user a private message via the "start a conversation" option. This means you don't have to make your email available to the whole world.

    3. DO NOT post anyone's details apart from your own. This is an infringement of data protection and will not be tolerated. If you know of a site where the information is freely available, provide a link to that site instead of the contact details.

    4. DO NOT post your telephone details or address.

    Where email addresses are posted repeatedly, the moderators reserve the right to close the thread and delete the relevant posts.

    Please note:




      • We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.
      • Also, while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure this forum is not disrupted or abused in any way.
      • We also reserve the right to ban anyone who wilfully violates the forum rules, as access to our forum is a privilege and not a right.
