    Welcome to guiders.co.uk!

Once you have signed up, please ensure the time zone is correct for your area!

Give yourself an avatar! Make yourself stand out!

Please try your best to complete your profile. At the very least please let us know what section you work with!

Then head on over to the 'Introduce Yourself' forum and let us know a bit about yourself. Remember this is a public forum so you should not post personal information such as telephone numbers, email or postal addresses.

Remember to check out the rules of the forum. They are in place to ensure that we keep the forum a safe and happy place.

    Post Rankings
You may notice that under your username is your position followed by ‘Rainbow’. This doesn’t mean you are a Rainbow or are a Rainbow Leader! It’s a funky system referring to the number of posts you have made. Please note that certain areas of the forum do not count.

    The current ranking are:

    The Doctor (5000+)
    The Master (7500+)
    Lord Voldemort (10,000+)
    Darth Vader (12,500+)
The Wicked Witch of the West (15,000+)

    Guidance for Posting:

    • When changing to a different font colour for your posts, please be a little courteous and think of others. We have members here who have sight problems and others may have things like Dyslexia, which can be affected by different colours. Blue is reserved for moderators/administrators.
    • Here's a few things to ask yourself when posting:
Would you speak to your rainbows/brownies/guides/rangers in that manner/tone?
Would you speak to your GIC in that manner/tone?
Would you be happy to hear someone (kid/adult) speaking to someone else in that way?
If your answers are no, then maybe you need to have another read of your post/reply before you click send.

    • If you need advice but do not wish to post under your username, please contact a mod who will post the message on your behalf anonymously. We will not discuss this unless the moderator(s) feel it is something which either breaks forum rules or is a safety issue.

    • If anyone has a problem with another member/post or spots any spam, please don't hesitate to contact a mod/admin. We are all normal people and not scary and we like to think that we are approachable. We will do what we can to help solve the situation. Kindly use the report function (the little triangle at the bottom of a post/PM) to report it for the moderating team’s attention.

    • PMs (or Private Messages) are a useful function on this forum, as they allow people to discuss and share information that they wouldn't want to post publicly on the forum. However, when people are organising something (be it a badge/G2G/event) they can easily feel bombarded and overwhelmed. Therefore, allow people the opportunity to go through and reply to lots of messages before sending more.

    • Please remember that anyone can read your posts. We are now very well publicised and we do not wish for anyone to cause offence to fellow Leaders or Girlguiding. Any serious issues should be discussed firstly with your commissioners.

    • Please wait a reasonable amount of time before bumping posts. For general 'how-to' questions this should be 24 hours. For specific troubleshooting issues, use 12 hours as a guideline.

    • If you are going to post non-English on these forums, please also post an English Translation of your post.

    • Finally, please all remember to follow the Guide Laws...If you follow them...you cannot go far wrong!
A Guide is honest, reliable and can be trusted.
A Guide is helpful and uses her time and abilities wisely.
A Guide faces challenges and learns from her experiences.
A Guide is a good friend and a sister to all Guides.
A Guide is polite and considerate.
A Guide respects all living things and takes care of the world around her.
