So today council are deciding who our new Chief Guide will be. If there was just one key quality that you would like our new lead volunteer to have , what would it be ?

Did I miss a shortlist? Why so closed door?

I would like our new Chief Guide to have a breadth of guiding experience that covers all sections in some respect, so that she can genuinely and enthusiastically engage with everyone she gets out to meet :)

To be good at assimilation and accommodation, and be good at “all sides” of the CG.
So she is able to meet and chat with young members on their level, and they come away feeling like someone special has paid attention to them. Adult members feel that she represents them as she is an experienced volunteer, and has “been there” herself. But equally able to hold her own when being a spokesperson for GG, she is able to eloquently be quizzed on important current issues, and isn’t an ordinary woman out of her depth.

When she appears in the news she is taken seriously as the senior/lead volunteer for one of the largest youth charities in the UK, but when she is with other Guiding members it’s like she’s a unit leader for all of us.
