    Hi,

I'm looking at taking some girl's to participate in the NYE event at Pax Lodge. We are hoping to stay in England for about two weeks longer than this event.

Any suggestions of other locations to visit out of London (using public transport) or even Guide events or venues we may be able to visit/stay at?

    Thanks!

You may be able to join a unit meeting somewhere as the kids here go back to school on 5th January.

depending on the timings (as it closes over xmas and NY) you might be able to have a sleepover at the Girlguiding HQ in London - http://icando.org.uk/for_guiding/activities.aspx. a short train journey from Victoria will get you to Crystal palace - the site of the first Boy Scout rally where the girls gatecrashed. It's a fab park and there is a Centenary maze - see https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/about_us/crystal_palace_park_maze.aspx

There are loads of great free museums and galleries - British Museum, Tate Modern and Tate Britain, natural history and science museum, V&A, National Gallery. You probably don't want to do too many of those but they are cheap, dry and warm at that time of year!
