Well we have planned our programme Whist (as per last year) and a tutorial session for all those non-whist players among us (ie me) musical evening (same band as last year - 60's night it is then) Christmas lunch and parcel at local football club (hope the footballers are training like they were last year ) 4 speakers (hospital radio, local councillor, local charity workers) Summer outing - to a distillery!! (might have to take a day off work for this one!) lots of tea and cakes! Okay I have just cheered myself up maybe there are a few meetings that are a bit "not my cup of tea!" but at least I can look forward to the Christmas lunch and Summer outing!! My challenges this year - learn to play whist, not volunteer to help with hospital radio/charities (I have enough pull on my time!) and not to get drunk at the distillery! I would put learn to bake a cake (or equivelent) suitable for public consumption but know that will need a lot more work as managed to break a pyrex dish last time trying to get the cake out of it! Think I'll stick to the Calendar Girls motto "if its a special occassion - get it at M &S!" for another year or so!
